"We are no moles, we are bats. We throw a sound into space and listen for the echoes it reflects." (Walther Benjamin)
In a vacant penthouse on top of the famous Edifício Copan by Oscar Niemeyer we staged a situation on the genesis of Brazil's capital Brasília and on the chances and failures of communication. During the course of the exhibition a protagonist was assembling the model of a glider according to the design of Lúcio Costa for Brasília. A tropical plant stood by the door. Costa's blueprints for Brasília were attached to the walls. A radio was playing softly and in a cage a couple of zebra finches was chirping. The assistent invited visitors to take on given roles in a conversation with phrases lent from Benjamin, Watzlawick, Luhmann and Habermas.
